From the date of its establishment in 1962 by Mr. Georges Saikali, “PROGRESS ENGINEERING”
Specialized in the trading of the electrical industrial devices and the manufacturing of all kinds of
Electrical Distribution Boards as well as Control Panel-boards. In 1963 became the exclusive agent
and representative of the German Company KLOCKNER - MOELLER as well as many other leaders in the field of electricity.

In 1970 “PROGRESS ENGINEERING” was awarded a very important contract for the U.A.E. This was a turning point for the Company, as it had to equip its factory with the up-to-date machinery, the High Voltage testing facilities (up to 5000 Volts 50HZ) and the Loading testing facilities (up to 3000A), as all panel-boards had to be “Factory Tested” and “Released” by the

Starting in 1992 “PROGRESS ENGINEERING” has developed and strengthened its Industrial
Electronic Controls division. Its Engineering Division has designed, programmed and executed several projects involving PLCs, Touch-Panels & SCADA SYSTEMs to the great satisfaction of “PROGRESS ENGINEERING” clients, and has now a software program library for several potential applications. Our engineers regularly attend training courses in the field of the PLC, Touch-Panel & SCADA Systems at our suppliers’ premises.

As of 2001, PROGRESS ENGINEERING, strongly entered the building and home automation field by distributing the NIKO wiring devices and Nikobus home automation systems, RF & KNX systems, Access Control, Lighting systems using LED & Induction technology, Parking Management systems, Video-phone Systems, AVR and UPS systems.

In 2007, PROGRESS BUILDING MATERIALS QATAR w.l.l. was established in Qatar and has been successfully active in this field of lighting & home automation.

In 2013 PROGRESS made a joint venture with SIALSOL, one of the Spanish leader in renewable energy, for the study & execution of such projects in the region.
