The mission of the Syndicate of Engineers is not limited to the professional aspect only, but it is also a scientific, administrative and social mission.

The union, of course, is the first line of defense for engineers, and the guarantor of their rights and their legitimate moral and material interests, and it works to resolve disputes that occur between them, or between them and their clients. The union shall set a guide for the tariff and the collection of fee allowances.

At the same time, the Syndicate ensures the moral duties and dignity of the engineering profession, and the discipline of engineers, in order to take the necessary disciplinary measures against those who violate the law on practicing the profession, union regulations and the duties of the literary

The Syndicate seeks to raise the status of the engineering profession, and it plays a key role in the legislative and regulatory affairs related to the profession. The union expresses its opinion on draft laws and regulations related to the engineering profession at the request of the competent minister, and on regulating the auxiliary professions in the field of engineering at the request of the competent minister. In the same context, the Syndicate submits proposals regarding technical specifications, standard systems, general and model terms of reference for works, as well as with regard to engineering curricula in engineering colleges and institutes in Lebanon. The union participates with Arab and international engineering organizations in all matters related to the engineering profession.

In an effort to advance the scientific level of the engineering profession, the Syndicate organizes educational and training courses for engineers, and holds or participates in conferences, seminars, and engineering and scientific lectures, whether inside or outside Lebanon.

The Syndicate is also responsible for setting up scientific libraries at the Syndicate’s center or its branches, translating and publishing engineering and scientific books, and issuing periodic and non-periodic bulletins. The Syndicate will also establish a center for collecting and documenting information related to all activities of the engineering profession and the materials used in various fields of engineering, and works to facilitate their placement at the disposal of those wishing to obtain them.

In the social aspect, the Syndicate seeks to assist the needy and infirm engineers or their families, and exercises all the powers entrusted to it with regard to the pension fund established by Law No. 64/11 dated February 19, 1964 and amended by Decree No. 9805 dated 4/5/1968.

In addition to finding a self-insurance formula, the union establishes private clubs, housing and consumer cooperatives for engineers, and a mutual fund in accordance with the laws in force.
